Great review.. I personally have the arkfled pro and the swivel head arkfeld.. both are being used almost daily though the swivel is mostly used, as that function with the clip, as well as the magnetic base, is awesome for handsfree illumination where you need it. i guess it depends on what you are using it for, but the pro is handy for those times when you need the UV or the pointer.. also as an EDC, the size of the unit and its form factor is key for me.. i went with olight as it was the most comfortable for me.. it is great to see that the other companies are stepping it up that means olight and the rest will not sit on its laurels and thus make better products.. again a great and honest review keep up the great work..

This is very upsetting. I read somewhere that different industries have different standards for how the torque is supposed to be done and that the auto industry specifies the bold be torqued with the equivalent of 30 weight oil. Also, I have an old Craftsman beam style torque wrench that put in the instructions to add 5 ft-lbs for every 6 inches of extension. It was actually in the manual. Perhaps this only applies to beam style torque wrenches, which you didn't test.

Wow - didn't expect literally double the torque on greased bolt. I knew it will be more, but not double. Also consider it other way - if it is dirty, rusty etc... you may get half of torque! Also quite a big difference on keeping the wrench tightened... I have also tested it myself vs. digital torque wrench, but likewise I only left it for a month. Basically, what happened is that I accidently left torque wrench tightened for a month and when I realised it was the case I decided to test if it is still accurate with digital torque adapter... and it was till within spec. Which lead me to wrong conclusion that this was myth and since then I stopped unscrewing them since every use... meaning I SHOULD CHECK THEIR ACCURACY AND ADJUST NOW! The one with extension and "crow foot" I actually knew, both the calculation and that extensions does not affect torque on normal torque wrench, the extensions affect impact, because they reduce the impacts, but when you do it by hand it is fine, because even if there is little bit of slack or twist, you still ultimately have to reach the force required. Quite surprised that holding it at different places impact the torque, but after explanation I understand why... good that I have never used micrometre type with extension pipe, because as it happens I only got digital one when I needed to do 280NM on hub bolt or something and my mechanical ones could not reach that torque and I used breaker bar with extension to get there, but that is relief that digital ones are not effected by extensions. All in all very informative - thanks.

I always believed the 'don't leave it compressed' for the reason you have found, good test. I have a question whether that is a permanent deformation of the spring? I mean, it's going to depend on the spring material and different brands, but just out of curiosity leave yours unloaded for 6 months, if you might comment here what the outcome to that was (will be)? cheers, thanks for video.

flex away is a bit false. more than 15 degrees of flex is said to be out of specs .this was not tested in the video, but the explanation says as much.

If you wanted to get real semantic you could still use universal/swivel heads if you just accounted for the offset, just like with a crows foot.

Europe already passed legislation to require standard of tool batteries to phase in over a couple years. However, mfgs are required to supply adapters with their tools in the meantime to accommodate the universal battery platform. It will migrate here if mandated, but our govt can't do anything that logical unfortunately.

I'm definitely not an expert, but I could see how a larger diameter might help. If you watch ice-skaters, you see that a larger diameter meant a slower rotational speed for the same rotational energy. Inherently, a larger diameter with the same rotational speed would imply a higher rotational energy. Since the impact driver uses more or less the same rotational speed for impacting both size of sockets, it could mean that this leads to a higher torque on the bolt in the end. Can't confirm definitively that this has anything to do with it, just brainfarting here :p

Interesting that even after milwaukee puts out a new latest and greatest 2967, that a lot of the bargain companies are still competing with the 2767. Glad he did the one on extensions cause that was one I always followed but never understood because mechanically the angle of torque didn't change. That being said, the "90 degree" thing is an oversimplification. Also, think about the adjustable one, with a normal socket head the bolt is always rotated around the same pivot center. With an adjustable, the center pivot of the bolt moves out the bigger the bolt you tighten. Therefore you cannot calibrate an adjustable wrench for every bolt size.

Can you recommend a great flashlight with a _wide_ beam? I ride a Onewheel and I often ride trails in the dark. I need a flashlight that isn't just a single bright hotspot. I need a super wide beam so the trail is lit evenly edge to edge.
